Relationship between disorganised speech, cognitive functions, and social functioning in people with schizophrenia

People with schizophrenia exhibit a wide range of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional dysfunctions; among other difficulties, people show disorganized speech, also called formal thought disorder or discourse disorder. The aim this work is to analyze find associations between attention, cognitive impairment, their relationship the severity social adaptive functioning patients chronic evolution living in an institution. A descriptive correlational quantitative explanatory design carried out 71 diagnosed different clinical scales, assessment scales scales. results that have difficulties all areas assessed. Disconnected speech found correlate positively function, severity, functioning. In conclusion, several these variables are observed need be considered for proper intervention population.
